We are done!!!^^

Can you belive we are done? I can't believe it. Of course, I want to go upper level but I am for sure that I am going to miss this class. I hope everyone can meet in next level.
What about going for a movie togather? or drinking? haha

I think I can't have vacation because I registered TOEFL on January 12. I am going to study hard for a month. ^^ I also have to prepare my wedding. I was too busy to prepare for that. It is going to be last Cristmas with single status.

Anyway, I really enjoyed EAP2 class and I am so happy to meet everybody. Let's keep in touch.
Someone who also prepare TOEFL call me. We can study togather.^^

Public Transpotation should Provide for Free.

Public Transportations should Provide for Free.

When I commute, I always use C-train. It’s for 2.5 per adult. I don’t need to buy ticket because I have already gotten ticket until next January. When I saw that the police caught the people who took C-train without paying in the morning. I thought pubic transportation system should provide to us for free. What’s your opinion?

We paid so much tax. But comparing with high tax rate, we don’t have enough quality of life. If it served free of charge, our quality of life would be better.

What about pollution? Canada is very big country so many people have to drive cars, but many cases even though they don’t need cars, they just do. The more people drive, the worse pollution might occur. If people could use public transportation free, driving rate would be decreased and it would be helpful to preserve our environment.

To have better service, better air circumstance, government stop charging fee for transportation. ^^

Christmas party.

I went to Christmas party on Saturday. I wish I would have won drawing.

One of the interesting things in Canada is that there are many family parties. We also have many parties especially on December, but guys have party with guys. Sometimes, they invite girls too but they are not family members. I don’t know how to explain well. They are just girls to make good mood for men. -.-;;

I really like Canadian parties. A woman who brought 6 children still enjoyed party.

Another reason why I like it is dancing. I saw many old men and women enjoyed their dance together. I have never seen that in Korea.
I can not even imagine my grandparents dancing. They always seem to be serious.
During the party, I thought my future. I also want to enjoy dancing even if I were 50 years old.

Keep it mind! Life is short!

Teacher's evaluation.

The Evaluation for Teachers.

I got a phone call from my friend in Korea. As you know, I have lots of teacher friends. She told me “Evaluation of teachers” is a controversial topic now. I agree the intention of new system; in addition teacher is like parents in Korea. So evaluations of teachers have been a taboo for a long time based on Confucianism. But I don’t agree the way of doing that because government to try to apply it from the elementary school.
Let me explain why I agree “Evaluation System.” Like others teachers are also people if they don’t have any motivation, it is easy to be lazy. So with surveys, if they could get feed-back for what they have taught, teacher can developed themselves and students’ satisfaction can be increased.
Even though there are many strong points, before apply that system, we need to be careful. For example, do you really think elementary students can have abilities to do that? They like to do only easy things and fun thing. Studying and training for good habit are not fun. In this case, can we say their grades for teachers are reasonable?

I think teaching is really difficult. These days there isn’t respect like in the past. I felt that parents treat me like their employee in several times. What about students? Do they trust and respect their teachers?

I told to my friend not to be sad too much. That system is not perfect now but anyway she can read the others’ mind, expectation of teachers. What about your country?
If you have a chance to become a teacher, do you want to do that?

The most difficult part of learing new language.

It can be quit difficult to learn a new language. What do you think are the most difficult aspects of learning a new language?

Regarding to Global village, people need to learn different languages. Some people can speak more than one language while others struggle with mastering only a new language in various reasons. In my case, learning new vocabulary is the most difficult. Using appropriate pronunciation and knowing different meaning of words depends on situation is most hard aspects.

First, even though we know the meaning of vocabularies, if we can not pronounce well, it is hard to have communications.
In English, rice and lice have different meaning /l/ or /r/ pronunciation. For example, imagine if a new English learner wanted to order rice but pronunciation lice, he/she would be embarrassed because waiter/waitress doesn’t understand. “Rice” means a type of food but “lice” means a kind of insect. How foolish if you order bugs in the restaurant.

Second, one vocabularies has different meaning depends on situation. I remember when I started to learn English. I learned “go” meaning. One day I met my foreign friend in the street. He asked me “How did it go?” and I answered “I didn’t go any place. I stayed at home.” In the question “go” doesn’t mean “move to other place” but it is the way of greeting same as “How are you.” Like this understanding vocabulary is not easy. We need to have many experiences to use words in different situation.

All of all, learning new words need to more experiences and practice. It is definitely most hard parts of learning a new language.

7 Dallors an hour!

I really want to have part time job. I sent appication forms to the dining center and students union but I didn't get any phone call from them. I guess maybe they already have had many students to work in campus.
If I were a student who just graduated high school, maybe I feel comfortable to get money from my parents. I already had a job before so my consumption was already extended. Even though I decided to be a student for several years, I still am not comfortable to have not enough money. Because of that, yesterday I tried to have a part time job in downtown. It was not legal thing so noone wants to hire me. Finally I found one place to be able to hire me for a short time. It was 7 dollars an hour! huu..... I understand current my situation is totally different from being in Korea but it still bothers me.
Funny things I couldn't even get that job because I am a student. I felt so bad but later on while I was waiting to take a C-train, I was laughing. I can guess the other people who was waiting with me thought that I am crazy.
I am just laughing for a few moment. I believe this situation will be done in a short time because I am working hard for my future now. I hope I can get a professional job in Canada in 5 years. hihi I hope you guys too!^^

If you know any job let me know. As you know, I am a very dilligent and good work haha.

Haste makes waste

While I was growing up, I learned "haste makes waste". "More haste, less speed" is another idom of Korea.
I agreed with it. Before I decide to do something, I really tried not to hasten. However, thesedays, my thought is changed. Most of time, I thought too much to prepare for the future so I couldn't even start. I felt I wasted my time. If we are in hurry, we can make mistakes. In other hand, we learned from that mistakes.

What's your dream house?

My dream house is a very fency and luxury condo. ^^
Even though many people like to live a house, I prefer to live in a cono because it's more safe and eazy to maintain.
These days I start to cook so maybe very nice and wide kitchen should be inculded.
What else..... oh! I forget to say about fitting room surounded by mirror.

I also want to live in upper floor and I can see downtown view at night. Isn't it nice?
With listening to good music, I can drink a glass of wine.

My bathroom would have big bath tub and ceiling would made out of glass. I could see stars while I am taking a shower. Wow...... that would be fantastic!

Did you use reading skill during the exam?

I study reading once a day. Even though we usually learn about reading stratagies, I don't think I use that skills that I learned before.
I used just same stratagies that I used before.
Listening is also same.


When I was a teacher, I had similar feeling like this. I just repeated same things so I felt bored.
When I took a test, I felt same. I just use same thing...... maybe I should study widly not only in text book but also in different way.

Do you study in this class's schedule a lot or do you study in your own plan?

What a stupid!

I woke up early in the morning because I wanted to attend a lecture. Even though I had set the alarm at 6: 30 am, like usual, I couln't wake up. -.-
When I opened my eyes, it was 7 : 30am, my lecture would start in 30 mins. I didn't have time to do make up so I got dressed with any cloths in the dark.
As soon as I had arrived in the just out side of classroom, it was 8 :10(maybe you can guess how much I hurried. isn't it Pretty good?^^)

Yet, when I had run into the classroom, I realized only three students were stairing me very strangely . Something was wrong........ Why only three????

I took our cellphone and saw message " would you like to change to standard time?" ......-.-......

...."yes" ,and then time was changed into one hour earlier.

****!( you can guess what I said!!!)

I didn't change my time!!!. That means I could have slept one hour more. I hated myself.....


Anyway, it was a good lecture.....I just need to have very strong coffee, now.--;;

Friend

What is friendship?

As soon as I had invited my friends, they answered to come my wedding . It's not easy to decide for them because LA is far from Korea and it costs a lot to go there.

I sometimes imagins last day of my life. If I had real friends and lovely family, I would not regret my life and be afraid to die.

They are very important people for me like my faimily. Yesterday, my friend sent e-mail to me and said me that she still couldn't believe that I will live in Canada.

I believe that I can make many friends here, but I know that I still miss them so much. Three friend coming my wedding is like more than three hundred friends for me, because I know their effort to come. Two of them have already got merrired and have two children. I really appreciate them and I can't wait to see them.^^

Den in real life

+I went movie last night. We wanted to watch "American Ganster" but it was sold out so I just choose this movie. First, I was wondering if it was good or not. Yet, it was really blissful funny and touching. While I watching, I was laughing and crying. .In the movie, Dan fell in love in three days. Isn't wonderful? haha

Especialy I really like songs in the movie. If you want, go this site and listen.
After cleaning my house, I am listening this music. I really like this kind of time such as lazy weekind.^^

Would like to buy a house or business?

Topic: You have enough money to purchase either a house or a business. Which would you choose to buy?

I would like to buy a house rather than a business.
1. If price went down, at least I could live in the house. However, if business did not go well, I would loose my money until selling the business. In addition, selling business takes very long time.
2. Personally, I am not interested in business and I don't have any knowledge. If I bought a business, it would be out of order in short time.


I can't not find other reason... in my personal opinion, teachers(I was a teacher.^^) are usually not good at investing. To be honest, If I had enough money, I would put that money in the bank maybe. ...-.-

TOEFL

I had a TOEFLtest on last Saturday. It was really difficult. Have you tried to have a test?
I tried it on last June so I wanted to know how I am improved. I also need 93 scores to attand in Univerisity. I love to read in English but in short time, reading fast was not really fun. In the speaking, talking to the computer was frustrating. As soon as I hear "beap" sound, I forgot what I wanted to say. I was laughing even sometimes but it was good experience too. I recomand you to try at least one time, it's totally different from our reading class. Actually, I thought reading and listening questions' level was higher than our class's level.
It also took around four hours and cost around 200$. After preparin for the test and then trying will be one of the good ideas! I also want to make a kind of studying group for TOEFL .^^

Women and Men

Are there really differences between woman and man in personalities?; for examples, woman is sensitive and emotional, but man is logical and blunted(?). I wonder if differences are caused by gender or individul pesonality. Even though I don't know the reason, I can totally tell that woman and man came from different planets. ; for example girls like to have agreements and understanding from others, so ....... to be continue

gloomy day

It was not happy day. I was shocked about my writing result. I lost my confidence pretty much for writing. I should have chose topic number one because choosing fimiliar topic could reduce time and help me to write comfortably. I knew it but I was just so bored to write down silimilar topic essey. Next time I should be more careful to pick suitable topic for me. I should learn how to improve my English skill through getting feedback, instead of focusing on only results. However It is not that easy. The bad result makes me upset and avoid to write in English.
I should see what are the weakpoints and get prepared for next time but I am disappointed now.-.- Sometimes, what I am thinking is different from what I feel. huuu....
If you know how to improve writing skills, help me. I should write down more in English even though I hate. -.-
Anyway, thanking for reading my sad story and see you tomorrow!!

How are you? I am so happy to see you guys again.
I went to the cruse trip for 8 days so I couldn't attend the classes.
It was an awesome trip. I swam with dolphines and did scuber diving.

Now I am trying to catch up but I haven't understood for what I have to do right now yet. -.-
